Open fire in the lobby, so nice on a wet autumn evening! Good buzz in the bar General friendly and welcoming ambience

Shower not v user friendly - outdated. Poor maintenance - grip in bath wonky, toilet roll holder hanging off the wall

Breakfast seemed to be microwaved. Breakfast menu is very limited. One staff member embarrassed our group on the first morning of our stay by announcing to the whole room that breakfast was not included in the room rate. Simple mistake on the booking that we weren’t aware of. Could have been dealt with a bit more subtlety

Handed a menu with missing pages. Ordered food to find the couple beside me with the same menu and more choices. I'd Ordered when I questioned this and got an apology.

Lovely location in Ennis. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The room was really spacious and very clean. We had a lovely meal in the hotel restaurant. A really great experience!

Food was nice. Reasonably priced too. Staff when you could get their attention were friendly and courteous.

Very loud fan/machine type unit running all night next to room. Rang night porter who said it wasnt the hotels and had no other rooms available so nothing could be done. We got very little sleep at all. Carpark layout very bad. Not enough staff. Waiting long periods for everything from drink to food to breakfast.

This hotel is a little gem. It is so central to all shops, bars and restaurants in the town. It is very comfortable and the staff could not be any more helpful or friendly. Breakfast and dinner were superb. Will definitely stay here again.

the heating was on full blast and even after we asked them to turn it off, it stayed on full blast all night. had to open a window.....in winter....so you can imagine the heat. tv in room was 15 plus years old

The hotel has a great old world charm about it, without any pretentiousness. The staff are very professional and pleasant. The room was really wonderful. It was very well appointed with great bedding and comfortable leather chairs to relax in. The hotel was right in the center of Ennis. You are able to walk to anywhere you want to go in town, which is good because driving and parking in Ennis is a challenge.

It’s a minor thing, but we felt the desserts at the hotel restaurant could be better. We noticed the people at the table next to ours left most of theirs uneaten also.

The staff in the restaurant were very helpful and accommodating.

I made this booking in May for a room in October. On arriving I was allocated a room quite a distance away from the lift, and struggled with my suitcase and belongings, no porter was offered. The room was lovely, however I quickly realised it must have been allocated to someone else as there were clothes in the cupboard and a laptop on the table. I was then allocated another room after requesting assistance this time with my bags. This room was freezing cold with the windows open, the bathroom is in need of renovation urgently, cracked tiles etc, there was no wardrobe (unlike the previous room) just a rack, overall substandard to the original room. I complained and was told I had originally been upgraded and that was why the difference in the rooms. I was booked in for 2 nights and I was working and didn't have the time to pursue complaining and asking for a change of room, I did mention it again when I checked out and again there was an apology from the receptionist, but I would have expected some contact from a Manager. I still do not know how this happened and am concerned that it could happen again to someone who is not as honest as I was as I saw a laptop and other personal item left out by the occupier. My company use this hotel on a regular basis and I have warned all my colleagues about my visit. The bar staff on my first evening where also very inattentive, drying glasses and chatting rather than serving customers, and I heard others complain.

A great hotel to stay in in the centre of the old town of Ennis . The hotel is tastefully decorated with good traditional service from very warm and friendly staff who couldn’t be more helpful if they tried.We ate in the dining room and the food was great too . Will definitely be back

Location was excellent. I loved having an active bar in the hotel. Delightful to hear the musicians playing traditional music.

Food was fair at breakfast and in the pub.

Loved the beds. Staff was extraordinary. I arrived early and they brought toast and tea to me in the lobby. Pub attached to hotel is perfect!!!!!!room was nicer in person than what i saw online. Coffee is amazing. LOVE the Orla Kiely soaps/shampoos. Perfect first night in Ireland when a good night’s rest was well needed.

I love old beautifully restored hotels. My husband and I had a large room overlooking the hotel gardens and the church next door. Amazing views. The Poet’s Corner (hotel’s pub) was lively and the food was excellent. The hotel breakfast was delicious.
